Being willing to listen, even when it seems as if there’s nothing in it for you.

Occasionally, we are “accosted” by strangers, whether it be in Starbucks or elsewhere.  We don’t want to be bothered, we are afraid, we become jaded or just “don’t have time.”

The author of the piece I am sharing (link below) had an encounter that will stick with him forever… Just because he stopped to “listen.”

I can’t help wondering how many of us, especially as leaders, miss the nuggets of learning/experience, just because of…. ??

I can’t help being just a bit envious of Joel and will definitely think twice about all those strangers around me in Starbucks (and many know how much I like Starbucks!) and their “story.”

Makes one pause…
