 But Can They Manage?

Baby Boomer Executives have become increasingly concerned with how to manage Millennials. Perhaps a more important question is how will the Millennials themselves will manage your company as they take over the roles of retiring Boomer managers and executives. This will be important to many Boomers looking to sell their companies because it is projected that there will be fewer buyers relative to the size of the Boomer cohort. who will be looking for a liquidity event.

As a result many Boomer owners will have to sell to the Millennials who work for them as a last resort –  in the form of an ESOP or other flavor of management buyout. This may involve Boomer-provided financing for the transaction for some period of time; so how the borrowers (the Millennials) manage your business as you watch from the sidelines will be of paramount importance to more than a few retirements.

Take two minutes for a brief analysis from Fast Company that looks at how the Millennials will change management.
