“It’s an ill wind that blows nobody any good”

My Mom tells me that her grandmother used to say this every time something untoward happened in her world. Of course, she was right. In the midst of almost every calamity there are those whose lives get better as a result of the disaster.

If there was ever a calamity in this country, it’s the state of our broken political system, and the vitriol that is coming out of both sides. There are few ideas or visions being promoted on how to fix our HUGE problems – like the exponentially increasing national debt, our decaying infrastructure, wage disparity, and unsupportable entitlement growth, just to name a few – just negativity aimed at the other side’s fatally flawed candidate. “A pox on both their houses.”

So imagine how much I appreciated this advertisement in this month’s edition of “Eastside Living” (Spartanburg, SC). Great Grandmama was right!
