An Irishman’s Philosophy – A Belated St. Patrick’s Day Post

My grandmother’s maiden name was O’Connell, and she traced her family roots back to Daniel O’Connell, whose election to the House of Commons resulted in the Emancipation Act of 1829 which allowed Catholics and Presbyterians to serve there.  I’m proud of my Irish ancestry, and I’m proud to subscribe to this Irishman’s Philosophy which a friend of mine sent me this year:

An Irishman’s Philosophy

There are only two things to worry about…

Either you are well or you are sick.

If you are well, then there is nothing to worry about.

But if you are sick,

There are only two things to worry about.

Either you will get well or you will die.

If you get well, there is nothing to worry about.

But if you die,

There are only two things to worry about.

Either you will go to heaven or go to hell.

If you go to heaven, there is nothing to worry about.

But if you go to hell, You’ll be so busy shaking hands with friends,  You won’t have time to worry.
